Best known for her SNL comedy skits, Celebrity Speaker Tina Fey has been in Mean Girls, Baby Mama, Date Night, Megamind, Admission, This is Where I Leave You, and NBC’s 30 Rock. Her first role in comedy was when she was featured in the Chicago-based comedy group, The Second City before joining the SNL team as a writer.
In 2004, Celebrity Speaker Tina was asked to do the movie, Mean Girls and in 2006 after leaving SNL, she created the TV series 30 Rock. The show was an immediate success and was based off experiences at SNL. In 2008, opposite former SNL co-star; Amy Poehler, the duo starred in the comedy Baby Mama. Tina Fey has received eight Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, five Screen Actors Guild Awards, and four Writers Guild of America Awards. In 2008, the Associated Press named Tina as the performer who had the greatest impact on culture and entertainment; namely the Entertainer of the Year award for her portrayal of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. In 2013, Tina and fellow long-time friend and comedian Amy Poehler, hosted the 70th Golden Globe Awards, their performance was so popular that they went on to host the following two years. The duo generated the highest ratings for the annual ceremony in a decade. Most recently, Tina was the narrator of the Disney Nature Film Monkey Kingdom, released April 2015.
Tina has been ranked number 80 on the Maxim Hot 100 List, People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 2003, Entertainer of the Year by Entertainment Weekly, the New York Post named her one of NY’s 50 Most Powerful Women, Time’s 100 list of influential people and selected by Barbara Walters as one of America’s 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008.
