He also helped open Willie G’s Seafood & Steaks in 1981 before gaining sole ownership of both establishments several years later in 1988.

Tilman is now one of the most recognized figures in the restaurant business, having created a wildly successful restaurant company that has since become a billion-dollar business. Outside of his restaurant establishments, Tilman also owns and operates different real estate assets including Golden Nugget Casinos, resorts and hotels, amusement parks and more. An avid sports fan, he was one of the original investors in the Houston Texans NFL football franchise and worked as an advisory director in 1994 and 1995 for the back-to-back NBA Champion Houston Rockets.

Tilman’s overwhelming success as a restaurateur and entrepreneurial visionary ultimately led to his own critically-acclaimed reality TV show on CNBC called Billion Dollar Buyer. The show premiered in March of 2016 and follows Tilman as he meets with inventors vying for a chance to become a supplier for Landry’s Restaurants.
