Queen Latifah is highly recognized today as an accomplished actress, singer, rapper, and activist. Her role in the Oscar-winning film Chicago as “Mama” Morton earned her an Academy Award nomination as well as on-screen credibility. Following up her Chicago success, Queen Latifah sang, danced, and acted in the hit film Hairspray, and nabbed a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nomination for her role as an HIV-positive woman in Life Support.
