Midnight Madness was the first feature film role that Michael J. Fox played in 1980 and in 1982 Class of 1984. On NBC’s Family Ties Michael was cast as Alex P. Keaton for seven seasons. He won three Emmy Awards for his role and a Golden Globe in 1989. During filming of Family Ties, Michael met his future wife, Tracy Pollan.

Back to the Future tells a story of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) who is sent back in time to meet his parents to help repair the damage to history by causing his parents to fall in love, but finding a way to return to 1985. The Film spent 8 weekends as the number one grossing movie and earned a total of $381.11 million. During and right after filming Back to the Future trilogy, Michael starred in Teen Wolf, Light of Day, The Secret of My Success, Bright Lights, Big City and Causalities of War. Michael’s final major film role was in The Frighteners which told a story of Frank Bannister who communicates with ghosts. He has leant his voice to Stuart Little in the Stuart Little movie, Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, Homeward Bound II: Lost in San Francisco, and Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

His role in Spin City ran from 1996-2002 on ABC and he won an Emmy Award, three Golden Globes, and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. During the memorable third season, Michael J. Fox made an announcement to the cast and crew that he had Parkinson’s disease and that he would be retiring to spend more time with his family. He would continue to act and make guest appearances on the show, and was replaced by Charlie Sheen. In 2013, NBC premiered The Michael J. Fox Show, which was loosely based on his life. This was Michael’s first regular return to television since Spin City. 

Michael appeared in a segment during the 2010 Winter Olympics closing ceremony expressing how proud he is to be Canadian. On June 4, 2010, British Columbia honored Michael by giving his the Freedom of the City.  Since going public with his health condition in 1998, Michael J. Fox has been a strong advocate of Parkinson’s disease research and founded The Michael J. Fox Foundation to help research a cure to Parkinson’s disease. Michael J. Fox is available for personal appearances, endorsements, and product promotion.
