Celebrity Chef Speaker Masaharu Morimoto was born in Hiroshima, Japan. Before moving to the United States in 1985, Iron Chef Masaharu was trained by numerous admired master chefs in Japan. After being the chef-owner of a restaurant in Japan for five years, Masaharu moved to New York City to join the highly praised Nobu restaurant.

After mastering his craft at New York’s melting pot, his cutting-edge cuisine engrossed the attention of Iron Chef producers, who then invited him to become a Japanese Iron Chef. His also made an acting debut on Hawaii Five-O. With his trademark diamond stud in his left ear, his Japanese root cooking has been recognized globally.

Chef Masaharu opened Morimoto in Philadelphia in 2002 and a second restaurant in New York City in 2006. He also has restaurants in Mumbai and New Delhi named Wasabi. Morimoto restaurant is located in Boca Raton, Florida and two other locations in Napa Valley and Hawaii. In Tokyo, Masaharu opened Morimoto XEX which included a Teppanyaki and sushi floor. More recently, Ralph Lauren and Masaharu have teamed up to design a new line of culinary tools. Masaharu was at the Luckyrice Grand feast, a chef-studded Asian-food lover’s paradise. He joined celebrity chef’s Daniel Boulud and Todd English. He also teamed up with Chiarello, Boulud, Dean Fearing, Christopher Kostow and Michael Symon at the Lexus Culinary Masters team at Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival in Monterey, California.

Chef Masaharu also has a line of specialty beers; Imperial Pilsner, Soba Ale, and Black Obi Soba Ale. More recently, Masaharu has collaborated with Rogue Brewing Company to make his fourth beer, rebottling of Rogue’s Hazelnut Brown Nectar under the name Morimoto Hazelnut Brown. Celebrity Chef Masaharu Morimoto is available for hosting, cooking demos and public speaking.
