Speaker for hire and former Congressman Joe Scarborough is the host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, a show that Time magazine calls “revolutionary.” Pulling from his experience as an influential player in Republican politics, Scarborough leads candid discussions about the important issues facing America each day. Scarborough also serves as Senior Political Analyst for NBC News and is a regular contributor to Meet the Press.

Morning Joe features interviews with top newsmakers and in-depth analysis of the day’s biggest stories. Balanced by his Democratic co-host and wife Mika Brzezinski, Scarborough brings an interesting perspective to the current political climate. The New York Times has described the show as “appallingly entertaining” and ranked Morning Joe as one of today’s top morning news shows, praising Joe and Mika’s natural repartee and off-the-cuff commentary.

Scarborough made a name for himself in politics long before he became a nationally recognizable media force. He was elected to Congress in 1994, the first Republican to do so in Florida since 1872. In 1998, he was named chairman of the Civil Service Committee and drafted a bill on long-term care, which President Clinton called “landmark legislation.” Scarborough still enjoyed the great popularity among public after retiring from Congress in 2001.

In addition to his career on TV, Scarborough is also a two-time New York Times best-selling author of The Right Path: From Ike to Reagan, How Republicans Once Mastered Politics—And Can Again, Rome Wasn’t Burnt in a Day, and The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise. He also writes a column on politics for The Washington Post and founded the Florida Sun, an award-winning weekly newspaper for which he served as editor and publisher.

Scarborough has been ranked in Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World” and, was included in Vanity Fair’s 2012 list of Top Media Players along with his partner in news, Mika Brzezinski. And New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, “Joe speaks without fear…he puts his country before his Party…That independence makes him a valuable voice in American politics.”
