Sports Speaker Jeremy Lin, point guard for the Charlotte Hornets, is a promising young NBA payers. After receiving no athletic scholarships out of high school and being undrafted out of college, Jeremy Lin has proven his worth on the basketball court. At the end of his college career, Lin became the first Ivy League player to record at least 1,450 points, 450 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 steals.
In his first career start in an NBA game, Lin had 28 points and eight assists. On February 10, 2011, Lin scored a new career high of 38 points, allowing the Knicks to pull away with a win against the Los Angeles Lakers and outscoring NBA star Kobe Bryant by four points. Lin has been called “the most surprising story in the NBA” by the associated press and his sudden success on the court has increased sales and traffic for the Knicks’ online store by a whopping 3,000%.
