Professional NASCAR driver and Sports Speaker Jeff Gordon is driver #24 of the Drive to End Hunger/DuPont/Pepsi Chevrolet Impala. Four time Sprint Cup Series champion, three time winner at Daytona 500, third on the all-time Cup wins list, with 92 career wins which is the most wins in NASCAR’s modern era. He also became the first driver to reach $100 million in career winnings.
Rick Hendrick and Jeff Gordon are co-owners of the #48 Lowe’s Chevrolet car, driven by Jimmie Johnson. Jimmie won the 2006-2010 Cup series championships. He also has an equity stake in his own car, #24.
Jeff’s team carries the nickname “The Rainbow Warriors” and has always had DuPont as a sponsor and has signed a long-term contact with Pepsi which is still in place today. His other sponsorships include Nicorette in 2006, National Guard in 2009, and AARP. In January 2015, Jeff announced that this would be his last year as a full-time driver and would not race anymore Daytona 500s, but did not rule out retirement entirely. In the same month he was also hired by Fox NASCAR to work as a rotating analyst for Xfinity Series races.
Off the race track, Jeff owns a private jet, a British Aerospace BAE-125-800 and a Lazzara 106 yacht called the 24 Karat. In 1999, Jeff established The Jeff Gordon Foundation to support children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses. In 2007, Jeff Gordon, Andre Agassi, Muhammad Ali, Lance Armstrong, Warrick Dunn, Mia Hamm, Tony Hawk, Andrea Jaeger, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Mario Lemieux, Alonzo Mourning, and Cal Ripken, Jr. founded Athletes for Hope, helping professional athletes get involved in charitable causes.
