Olympic Speaker Hope Solo grew up playing a variety of sports, but her love of soccer grew to playing it in college at the University of Washington. Here she switched to goalkeeper and was named a four-time All-Pac-10 athlete and a three time NSCAA All-American.  In 2003, Hope solo was drafted to the WUSA’s Philadelphia Charge. After having a successful career in Philly, she went on to play for Kooparbergs/Goteborg FC of Goteborg, Sweden in 2004 then for Olympique Lyonnais in the French First Division in 2005.

After already being selected as an alternate for the U.S. Olympic Team in 2004, in 2005 she was promoted to starting goalkeeper. In 2008 she had 9 shutouts in 16 starts—playing in Four Nations Tournament, the Algarve Cup and the Peace Queen Cup. Hope Solo joined the U.S. Olympic Team again in 2008, but this time she was starting as goalkeeper. In the 2008 Olympics, the U.S. Women’s Soccer team made it to the Gold Medal match against China. Olympic Speaker Hope was able to fend off the China team and the U.S. team went on to win the Gold Medal. At the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Hope ended the tournament with 177 international caps and received the Golden Glove trophy as the best goal keeper. The U.S. team also went on to win the 2015 FIFA championship.

Following her Gold Medal win, Hope Solo was drafted to the St. Louis Athletica which was part of the newly formed Women’s Professional Soccer league in 2009. Hope is sponsored by Nike. Hope is available for sports clinics, endorsements and personal appearances.
