Before becoming a designer, Home and Garden Speaker Genevieve Gorder was a commentator on MTV’s Sex in the ‘90s and was one of the original decorator of the TLC’s show Trading Spaces. She worked at Duffy & Partners where she designed the bottle for Tanqueray No. 10 gin.
By 2003, she was known for her role in Trading Spaces as the one who never wore shoes. She eventually was the spokesperson for Swiffer sweeper and was seen in TV commercials. In addition to Trading Spaces, Genevieve was a decorator for the spinoff show, Trading Spaces: Family. In 2009, she became the official spokesperson for the Floor and Décor Outlets of America, Inc.
Genevieve’s most recent project is her new series, Genevieve’s Renovation. She also appears on Dear Genevieve on HGTV, where she helps people who have design problems who have written in to the program. Genevieve Gorder is a judge on the design panel of HGTV Design Star. Genevieve has also launched her own digital magazine, Real Genevieve.
