Dr. Robert Huizenga, also known as “Dr. H,” is a famous medical expert, author and health speaker, most recently recognized as the blunt physician on the television reality show The Biggest Loser. His medical career, however, began long before his presence on reality television.
After attending Harvard Medical School, Dr. H spent eight years as team physician for the Los Angeles Raiders, and four years as president for the NFL Physician’s Society. During this time, Dr. H wrote You’re OK, It’s Just a Bruise- A Doctor’s Sideline Secrets about Pro-Football’s Most Outrageous Team, a book that dips its toes into the controversial topic of anabolic steroids and other sport enhancing aids. The book inspired the film “Any Given Sunday,” but also ignited a screenwriter and source material lawsuit that Dr. Robert Huizenga won. Since then, Dr. H has been given the title of expert witness to catastrophic brain injuries in football players by the House Judiciary Committee, and has contributed his expertise to high-profile cases including the OJ Simpson trial, anabolic steroid use of athletes, and Botox trials. He has also become a guest speaker and medical advisor for networks like CBS, NBC, and ABC.
Dr. Robert Huizenga has established himself as a credible writer and medical expert in pop culture and is available for speaking engagements, personal appearances and trade shows.
