Sports Speaker Dick Vermeil can undoubtedly be considered as one of the greatest head coaches of all-time. His head coaching experience and talent did not begin its formation during his time in the NFL, but more unexpectedly to fans at the high school level. Dick is a great role model for people of all ages. The way he coaches his players is always towards success.

Sports Speaker Dick Vermeil began his coaching career at the high school level in California. This was Dick’s first stop on the road to stardom. His team did well and he earned coach of the year for his first and it would not be his last. The next stop would lead Dick to UCLA where he would find his team ready and willing to go out there and fight for the victory. In 1975 he led the Bruins to a Rose Bowl victory over Ohio State thus earning him his third coach of the year award with his second coming from a junior college position. The next year Dick would take his talents to Philadelphia in order to help the suffering Eagles out of their recent slump. Two short seasons later the Eagles had made the playoffs for the first time in 18 years. After Philly Dick dabbed around in broadcasting working for CBS and ABC, however his heart still lay in coaching. In 1997 he got the call from the St. Louis Rams they were in dire need of a coach of his caliber. Dick, along with star player Kurt Warner taking the role of injured Trent Green, won the Superbowl giving Dick his 5^th coach of the year award.

Sports Speaker Dick is one of, if not the only, head coach to win coach of the year awards at the high school, junior college, NCAA, and NFL levels. In reality, what makes Dick such a good coach is his emotion, something other coaches are known for showing none of such as Gregg Popovich. He is not afraid to be himself which is something many young children, and anyone who struggles with this for that matter, can benefit from.
