Business Speaker, Entrepreneur, Internet, Science and Technology expert Craig Newmark has made quite a mark on the World Wide Web as the creator of the global website, Craigslist. After graduating from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor degree in Science, Craig worked for computer powerhouse IBM for seventeen years as one of their programmers before he got an opportunity to move to San Francisco and work for Charles Schwab. It was there that he was first introduced to the internet in the early nineties. Soon after, Craig Newmark developed the free marketplace where people could exchange information for free called Craigslist. In the years that would follow its creation, the popular classified ad site, Craigslist.org, would go on to become one of the most visited websites in the world, averaging 50 billion plus views per month.
As a philanthropist, Newmark started Craigconnects, a website that focuses on publicizing charity causes to the press to get more attention and aid for the organizations. Craig posts regular blogs on craigsconnects.org as well as contributing blogs for SFGate and the Huffington Post. Newmark was named one of Forbes’ Billionaires In The Making in 2010 where he joined fourteen other extremely successful individuals including social network guru Sean Parker, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and music superstar, Jay Z.
