Clint had his first claim to fame in the Man with No Name. Other box office hits included Million Dollar Baby, Play Misty for Me and Unforgiven. Clint has directed movies that he has starred in and movies which he hasn’t, such as Mystic River and Letters from Iwo Jima, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. His Dirty Harry series also received much critical acclaim over it’s five films.
Clint Eastwood has received the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres medal in 2007, was awarded the Legion d’honneur medal and in 2000 he was awarded the Italian Venice Film Festival Golden Lion. He has his own production company, Malpaso, which produced all four of his American films. Not letting old age slow him down, Clint has been as busy as ever. In 2008 he directed and starred in one of his biggest hits, Gran Torino. He also directed the successful 2011 film, J. Edgar, and his latest hit is his directorial contribution in the film adaption based on a true story, American Sniper.
