Business Sepaker Cameron Sinclair was the Co-Founder and CEO for Architecture for Humanity, a charitable organization seeking architectural solutions to humanitarian crisis and brings professional design services to communities in need. For 14 years Cameron Sinclair headed the philanthropic organization. In 2013, he took over all assets associated with Worldchanging, a charitable foundation that publishes material on sustainability. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Jolie-Pitt Foundation and runs an internal design collective called the Department of Small Works.
In 2004, Fortune Magazine named him one of the Aspen Seven—seven people changing the world for the better. He is the recipient of the TED Prize and the 2005 RISD/Target Emerging Designer of the Year, was selected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and was awarded the Wired Magazine Rave Award for Architecture along with Kate Stohr. They receive this award in thanks to their response to housing needs following Hurricane Katrina.
Following the TED Prize, Cameron Sinclair and Kate Stohr launched the Open Architecture Network, dedicated to improving living conditions through innovative and sustainable design, it was the world’s first open source community. In 2010 Cameron received two honors from Future-ish: as he was named, Citizen of the Next Century and was inducted into the Public Intellectual Service & Advocacy Society. Also in 2010, Cameron Sinclair was named a Senior Fellow of the Design Futures Council. He is available for personal appearances, speaking engagements and endorsements.
