Celebrity chef speaker Bruce Moffett is an executive chef, restaurateur, and James Beard Foundation award nominee. A former employee of Rhode Island US Senator John Chafee, Bruce Moffett decided to change careers and enter the culinary world. After six years on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, Chef Moffett enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York. After graduating, he worked at such esteemed restaurants as the Cherokee Town & Country Club in Atlanta, Georgia, and renowned Boston restaurants, L’Espalier and Metroplis Café where he earned the position as Executive Chef.
Chef Bruce Moffett opened his restaurant, Barrington’s in 2000. The homey American eatery is located in Charlotte, North Carolina and since opening, has earned many accolades, including 4 stars from the Charlotte Observer, was named one of the Top Restaurants in America Guide, was listed on AOL as one of the top eleven restaurants in the country, and received the highest rating possible from ZAGAT. Chef Bruce also was nominated as a semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation award for Best Chef: Southeast category.
In 2009, Chef Moffett and his brother Kerry opened a second restaurant called Good Food on Montford for which they were named Restaurateurs of the Year by Charlotte Magazine. In 2010, Good Food on Montford was nominated for and named a semi-finalist for the James Beard Foundation Award for Best New Restaurant. In 2013, Bruce Launched the Moffett Restaurant Group, thus expanding his reign in Charlotte.
Throughout the years, Chef Bruce Moffett has been featured in such publications as the Charlotte Observer, Charlotte Parent, and QC Exclusive: Charlotte’s Guide to the Good Life.
