Brooke Shields began her modeling career at 11 months old for an Ivory Soap commercial and continued as a child model with agent Eileen Ford. As a 14 year old model, Brooke was the youngest fashion model ever to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine and this same year, appeared in a controversial Calvin Klein jeans ad. This ad, threw the brand into super-designer status. By 16, she became one of the most recognizable faces in the world.
Her first major film role was in Pretty Baby and was followed by Wanda Nevada. Brooke’s most notable films are The Blue Lagoon and Endless Love. She was the winner of the People’s Choice Award for Young Performer in 1981-1984.
She was the youngest guest star ever to appear on The Muppet Show and ABC’s Fridays. Brooke Shields also made TV appearances in Friends and Suddenly Susan, which she had two Golden Globe nominations for. Brooke has made appearances on other TV shows such as That 70’s Show, The Runaway Bunny, Nip/Tuck, Two and a Half Men, Hannah Montana, Lipstick Jungle, The Middle, and What Do You Think You Are?. Starting in 2013, Brooke has been an occasional guest co-host on Today on NBC.
Celebrity Speaker Brooke Shields played in various Broadway musicals including Grease, Cabaret, Wonderful Town, Chicago, and The Addams Family. She spends a lot of her time and money to numerous charities including Healthy Child Healthy World, Keep America Beautiful, Listen Campaign, Project A.L.S., St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters, The Art of Elysium, Toys for Tots, V-Day, and the World Smile Foundation.
