Bobby’s inspiring story begins in Arkansas, where he first dreamed of becoming a radio host at the age of 5. He grew up in a trailer park in a poverty stricken area of Mountain Pine, Arkansas. He attended Henderson State University, and began his radio career at 17 with the campus station before graduating with a degree in Radio/Television in 2002. While still in college, Bobby worked for a contemporary hit radio station and was originally brought on as a station hand. Remarkably, the station put Bobby on-air within a few days having noticed his flair for on-air hosting and very outgoing personality. Little by little, Bobby’s prowess as a radio host became more apparent and he was hired by KHIF-FM in Austin, Texas to host his own music radio show. Thus, The Bobby Bones Show was born!
Over the next 10 years, Bobby and his trusty co-hosts Lunchbox and Amy built The Bobby Bones Show into the top-rated morning show in Austin. He began to solicit job offers in other areas of entertainment, but ultimately chose to stay true to his passion for radio broadcasting. In 2012, The Bobby Bones Show was moved to Nashville and shifted its focus solely to the country music scene. The show is now a regular media stop for today’s top country music talent such as Taylor Swift, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Lady Antebellum and more.
