Technology and Business Speaker Bob Parsons’s first endeavor was Parsons Technology, starting this company in his basement in 1984, after he taught himself how to write computer programs. He created the company’s first software, MoneyCounts and Personal Tax Edge, using direct mail marketing to sell these and other products.
Parsons Technology was sold to Intuit, Inc in 1994 for $64 million when the company had almost 1,000 employees, $100 million in annual revenue and three million customers. At this time, Parsons Technology had sold more than 100 products, was releasing a new product or product upgrade every six days, and was sending more than six million pieces of direct marketing mail each month.
In 1997, Bob Parsons started Jomax Technologies from the sale of Parsons Technology. Two years later, he renamed the company Go Daddy and in 2000, Go Daddy became an ICANN-accredited domain name registrar. Today, it is put together of three ICANN-accredited domain name registrars including, flagship registrar GoDaddy.com and reseller registrar Wild West Domains, Inc., and Starfiled Technologies, Inc. Go Daddy registers, renews or transfers a domain name more than every second of every day, with more than 9.5 million customers, managing more than 49 million domain names. It is the largest web hosting provider in the world. Bob Parsons is available for speaking engagements, personal appearances and endorsements. In 2014, Bob Parsons stepped down as Go Daddy’s Executive Chairman. In January 2015, launched Parsons Xtreme Golf, a high-end golf club manufacturing company. He is sill Go Daddy’s largest shareholder and remains active on the company’s board.
