Ashley Graham began her career as a plus size model in 2001 by signing a deal with Wilhelmina Models. Two years later, she signed a larger deal with Ford Models. In her early modeling days, she was featured in YM Magazine and a Glamour editorial called “These Bodies are Beautiful at Every Size.” She also began walking for designers such as Dolce and Gabbana, H&M, Tommy Hilfiger, Micheal Kors, and Love Mag.
Ashley Graham kick started her career by being the first plus size model to appear on the cover of Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Edition in 2016. Since, she has used her large platform to inspire body positivity and self acceptance in women. Graham has partnered with companies and other influencers to enhance her message across the globe. One of her biggest partnerships is with Swimsuits For All. Graham has been partnering with this company for the past five years. The partnership is based on the common message of empowering women of every shape and size.
Ashley Graham has taken a leadership role in women’s empowerment on social media platforms as well as television talk shows. She has appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Steve Harvey, and many more. She was a judge for Miss Universe 2017 and was the host for Miss Universe 2018. Recently, she was also the host of the second season of American Beauty Star, a cosmetic competition series. Graham gave a TED Talk speaking about self acceptance, which is the underlying message she encourages in everything she does. She has taken a stance on social media by showing the real, unedited version of herself and presenting self love.
