Sports Speaker Arthur Rhodes was drafted in the second round of the 1988 Major League Baseball Draft by the Baltimore Orioles. He debuted with the Orioles in 1991 and spent 12 years with them before gaining free agency after the 1999 season. Arthur then signed with the Seattle Mariners for four years, then the Oakland Athletics. By 2006, Arthur Rhodes was acquired by the Philadelphia Phillies and then with a minor league contract signed, he received an invitation to join the Mariners at spring training.

After undergoing Tommy John Surgery, he missed the entire 2007 season and became a free agent. The next year, he resigned with the Seattle Mariners with a minor league deal then was traded to the Florida Marlins. This same year, he signed a two year deal with the Cincinnati Reds. His next move took him to the Texas Rangers and released in 2011 only to sign with the St. Louis Cardinals. Arthur Rhodes was a member of the 2011 World Series Champions.

A rook in 1991, Arthur was the tenth-youngest player in the AL, and by 2011 he was the third-oldest player in the AL. As a relief pitcher, Arthur holds the the major league record for most holds in a career with 215 as of 2010, but he then increased his lead by 231 at the end of the 2012 season. January 16, 2015, Arthur announced his retirement from baseball ending his 20-year professional career at the age of 45.  Arthur is available for speaking engagements, sporting events, and sports clinics.
