Olympic Speaker for hire Anthony Ervin is a talented swimmer whose story of early success and fight to return to greatness is one that will inspire your audience to climb their way to the top in work and in life.
Anthony first competed in the Olympics at the 2000 Games in Sydney, Australia. He swam his way to a Gold Medal in the 50M freestyle event in addition to a Silver Medal as a member of the 4x100M freestyle relay team with Gary Hall Jr., Neil Walker and Jason Lezak. 16 years later, he returned to the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and won the 50M freestyle event again becoming both the youngest (19) and oldest (35) swimmer to win the Olympic 50M freestyle event.
During those 16 years, Anthony took time away from swimming and admittedly wasn’t in the best shape. But something in him called him back to the pool and in 2012 he qualified for his second Olympic Games in the 50M freestyle. He finished 5th in the event in London but Anthony wasn’t done yet. He continued competing for the U.S. in international swimming events before capping his latest journey with 2 Gold Medals at the 2016 Olympic Games.
Anthony has always understood the gravity of his position as a representative of the U.S. and a role model for others on the world stage. In 2004, he partnered with the Red Cross tsunami relief fund and auctioned off his 2000 Gold Medal on eBay to raise funds to aid survivors of the 2004 tsunami in Southeast Asia.
