Alicia Sacramone is a retired gymnast who has four gold medals from the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and a silver medal from the 2008 Beijing Olympics. By winning 10 total medals at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Sacramone holds the most medals ever for any female United States gymnast.

Sacramone earned her first major medal in 2003 at the USA Gymnastics National Championships, earning a bronze medal in floor exercise. The following year, Sacramone won two gold medals at the Pacific Rim Championships and one Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Championship. 2005 was a major year for Sacramone, winning her first World Championship in Floor exercise, while also winning two USA Gymnastics National Championships. In 2007, Sacramone won a team gold medal at the world championships, as well as a USA Gymnastics National Championship. 2010 marked her second individual world championship in vault, and she also won a USA Gymnastics National Championship this year. The following year, she won her first major balance beam championship at the USA Gymnastics National Championships; most of her individual championships had previously been vault or floor exercise. By the end of her career, she had compiled an incredible 16 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals at major gymnastics championships worldwide.

Olympic Speaker Sacramone became one of the first female athletes to be signed as a CoverGirl spokesmodel. She has also served as a spokeswoman for the fitness company Team 24 Fitness and as a designer for Tank Farm, a men’s fashion company. Sacramone has been booked for commercials with Secret deodorant, AT&T, and Gatorade. Her Gatorade commercial notably spoofed Monty Python and the Holy Grail as “Alicia, The Girl Who Made Horse Trotting Noises.”  Sacramone appeared in ESPN’s 2011 Body Issue, where she posed and talked about body image issues in gymnastics.
