If you haven’t heard the name Chef Marc Anthony Bynum, you will soon. Chef Marc’s culinary career took off when he competed and won twice on Food Network’s hit cooking competition series, Chopped. The celebrity chef judges who picked him in the first competition were Iron Chef Alex Guarnaschelli, Chef Amanda Freitag, and Chef Jody Williams; the second time he impressed celebrity chefs Geoffrey Zakarian, Marc Murphy, and again, Amanda Freitag with his cooking skills to secure another win. He went on to compete in the Chopped Champions Grand Finale of the $50,000 tournament but was eliminated after the appetizer round. Still, since his television debut, Bynum’s career has seen a huge boost in popularity. After the show, Chef and Celebrity chef speaker Marc participated in the Celebrity Chef Tour with fellow chefs Jennifer Carroll, Amanda Cook, Sean Curry, and Chopped celebrity chef judge, Marc Murphy.
Throughout his ten year culinary career, celebrity chef speaker Bynum has worked for several notable restaurants and organizations in New York including Prime American Kitchen, Bella Vila City Grill, Rookies Sports Club, Venue 56, Bethpage State Park, Marriott, and Four Food Studio. His culinary success has earned him exposure in such publications as Newsday, the New York Times, Cuisine Noir, and The Long Island Press.
Currently, Chef Marc Anthony is working as consulting chef at ParkWest Kitchen & Cocktails, Wild Rocket Kitchen, and Cue Nine, as well as partner/director of food operations at BambooTori, a yakitori restaurant in New York City. He also is continuing to build his brand, MBynum Creations and makes frequent appearances for charities he supports, like Childhood Obesity and Teenage Depression in hopes of drawing attention to their causes.
