Celebrity chef Alexander Talbot is a world-famous food blogger, culinary consultant, and cookbook author with his wife and business partner, Aki Kamozawa. Since the couple started their blog, Ideas in Food, in 2004, they have evolved their concept into a profitable business model and have made their living off of their analytical approach to cooking.
Through the Ideas in Food blog, Chefs Talbot and Kamozawa deliver countless recipes, techniques, tips, and tricks for just about every possible dish imaginable. The blog delves in to the science behind cooking and analyzes the effects of cooking processes on different foods, from grilling flat bread to brining foie gras. They write from their own experiences in cooking which makes their blog a thorough and accurate guide to cooking. For this reason, Ideas in Food was voted Best Culinary Science Blog in the 2013 Saveur Best Food Blog Awards.
The culinary power couple also travels the country as consultants helping chefs, home cooks, and restaurants in need of inspiration. They share their central message that “a solid understanding of science and technique coupled with high quality ingredients, modern equipment, and innovative approaches to cooking makes anything possible” and teach their students based on that idea. They also chronicle these experiences in their award winning blog to help others in need of creative ideas.
Chef Alexander Talbot is also a co-author of two cookbooks with his wife. Their first book, Ideas in Food: Great Recipes and Why They Work was named one of Amazon’s Best Books of the Month in December of 2010. Their second book, Maximum Flavor, Recipes That Will Change the Way You Cook, is set to be released in Fall of 2013.
