Sports speaker and first baseman, Albert Pujols is considered one of the top players in MLB and was the ‘most feared’ hitter in baseball in 2008 according to a poll done by all 30 MLB managers. Albert is winner of the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2001, All-Star selection nine times, National League MVP three times, two time Hank Aaron Award winner and is the recipient of two World Series rings from 2006 and 2011.
He led all active players in batting average, slugging percentage and OPS after the 2011 MLB season. He is also ranked 37th for the amount of home runs in MLB history and named The Greatest Player of the Decade by ESPN.com.On December 8 2011, Albert signed a deal with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The 2013 season started off on the wrong foot when Albert was ruled out the remainder of the season due to a knee injury. After a disappointing season, in 2014 Albert made his 500th career home run becoming the 26th player to ever do so. At the end of the 2014 season Albert traveled to Japan to to join a team of MLB All-Stars to play against All-Stars of Nippon Professional Baseball. Albert is still currently playing for the Angeles.
Albert is a devout Christian and says he plays to, “glorify God and to accomplish in this game what everybody wants to accomplish.” Albert and his wife are active in the cause of Down Syndrome, as one of their children is affected by the disease. In 2005, they started the Pujols Family Foundation, dedicated to faith, family and others. Albert Pujols is available for speaking engagements, sporting events, and sports clinics.
