Conference Speaker Marc Randolph is a renowned entrepreneur and investor who is best recognized as the co-founder of the popular online movie and TV show streaming service Netflix. He is a man of many talents, working as the founding CEO and a website executive producer at Netflix while remaining a member of the board of directors until his retirement in 2004. He now travels the globe as a motivational keynote speaker sharing his business story and keeping the entrepreneurial spirit alive at annual conferences, leadership summits and other business events.
While Netflix may be his crown jewel, Marc is quick to tell you his success wasn’t instantaneous. He was a part of 6 start-ups from 1983-1995 before founding Netflix in 1996. His experiences with each made him the successful entrepreneur he is today, challenging him and teaching him how to prepare for the unknown. During the last 4 decades, Marc has also invested in a number of successful and unsuccessful tech ventures.
In 2012, Conference Speaker Marc Randolph co-founded the computer software company Looker Data Sciences based in Santa Cruz, California. The company provides expert business and data analytics designed to be more user-friendly to non tech-minded individuals. He is also a board member and advisor to several other companies including Chubbies Shorts, equipment rental agency Getable and K-12 resource library OpenEd among others.
One of his biggest passions since finding success as an entrepreneur has been getting involved with young entrepreneur programs. Marc loves the opportunity to mentor and inspire the next generation of thought leaders. He understands what it’s like to be on both sides of the pitch and he can appreciate the courage and determination it takes to turn an idea into a reality.
