Former co-host of the national morning show, Good Morning America, Joan Lunden now spends her mornings and days as a celebrity speaker, bestselling author, and celebrity mom. Joan Lunden spent seventeen years with ABC’s morning show where she co-hosted alongside fellow journalist and host, Charlie Gibson. Throughout her journalistic TV career, Lunden interviewed presidents and first ladies including Presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George Bush, Bill Clinton, First Ladies Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan, Barbara Bush, and Hillary Clinton. She also appeared on several other television programs including Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Daily Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, 20/20, The Rachael Ray Show, The View, The Wendy Williams Show, and countless others. Lunden also guest starred in the television series Home Improvement with actors Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Joan received several Daytime Emmy Awards nominations for her work on Good Morning America as well as three CableACE Awards nominations. She won a Matrix Award by New York Women in Communications for outstanding contributions to the broadcasting field. Joan is now a NBC Today Show special correspondent.
Since leaving Good Morning America, Joan Lunden has pursued a number of passions including writing. She has published several best-selling books including Joan Lunden’s Healthy Cooking, Joan Lunden’s a Bend in the Road Is Not the End of the Road: 10 Positive Principles For Dealing With Change, Joan Lunden’s Healthy Living: A Practical, Inspirational Guide to Creating Balance in Your Life, and her latest book, Growing Up Healthy: A Complete Guide to Childhood Nutrition, Birth Through Adolescence for which she teamed up with childhood nutrition expert, Dr. Myron Winick, to write.
Lunden went on to host several other shows including Lifetime series, Health Corner as well as A&E network’s series Behind Closed Doors. Along with traveling the country as a motivational speaker, Joan is also a spokesperson for the national senior care referral service, A Place for Mom, as well as the skincare brand Murad.
